Citizen Advocate Meetings

The Colorado Department of Corrections holds Citizen Advocate Meetings at regularly scheduled intervals as a forum for communcation and information sharing between the Department of Corrections and its stakeholders.

The DOC Citizen Advocate Meetings will be held at the Denver Women's Correctional Facility, 3600 Havana, Denver, CO 80239. The meetings will be from 1:00 - 4:00 P.M. To attend the Citizen Advocate Meeting please RSVP and submit a Consent to Search form (AR 300-27C) by the deadline identified below to cdoc@state.co.us.

If you have submitted a consent to search form within the last 12 months of the meeting date, please do not submit another form. Your form and clearance is valid for 12 months. To check the status of a previously submitted form please feel free to email cdoc@state.co.us.

Please submit questions and topics to cdoc@state.co.us, Constituent Services Office by the deadline indicated.

Upcoming Citizen Advocate Meeting Dates and Deadlines

April 2020 - Citizen Advocate Meeting - IMPORTANT UPDATE/COVID-19
Due to COVID-19 and the need to stay at home and limit travel, the department has canceled the April 2020 Citizen Advocate Meeting scheduled to be held at Denver Women's Correctional Facility on 4/15/2020. In lieu of the in-person meeting, the department will be holding a web/phone conference from 1 pm to 2 pm on 4/15/2020, which will be focused on the department's response to COVID-19, including an update from executive staff and opportunity for Q&A. Questions submitted in writing in advance of the regularly scheduled meeting will be answered as soon as feasible and the answers posted on this webpage.  If you have not already RSVP'd for the meeting and wish to attend the web conference, please RSVP via email to cdoc@state.co.us and you will be provided the web/phone conference access information. Due to conferencing capability limits, access will be limited to the first 80 participants to RSVP.
 
May 2020 - SOTMP Citizen Advocate Meeting - IMPORTANT UPDATE/COVID-19 - SCHEDULED FOR 8/19/20, 1-3 PM VIA PHONE/WEB CONFERENCE
Due to COVID-19 and continued restrictions on large in-person gatherings, the department has canceled the May 2020 SOTMP Citizen Advocate Meeting scheduled to be held at Denver Women's Correctional Facility on 5/13/2020. In lieu of the in-person meeting, the department will be holding a web/phone conference from 1 pm to 3 pm on 8/19/2020, which will be focused on sex offender management/supervision and SOTMP. We ask that you submit any questions you wish to have answered at the meeting by email to cdoc@state.co.us no later than 5 pm on 8/12/2020.  If you wish to attend the web conference, please RSVP via email to cdoc@state.co.us and you will be provided the web/phone conference access information.

Please be sure you RSVP via email or phone to cdoc@state.co.us or 719-226-4569 by the RSVP deadline to ensure you are added to the approved facility entry list for the meeting. This will expedite your entry process and ensure you are able to attend the entire meeting.

The final Citizen Advocate Meeting of 2019 was held on October 16, 2019.  We thank everyone who joined us for the 2019 Citizen Advocate Meetings and we look forward to meeting with you again in 2020.
