Hiring events, open house and career exploration offered this first week

(DENVER)  -- September has been declared Workforce Development Month by Governor John Hickenlooper and each week during the month state and county run employment offices called Workforce Centers are partnering with the Department of Labor and Employment, spotlighting a variety of services and resources available to job seekers and employers.  

Among the events taking place during this first week in September will be:

  • Gunnison Workforce Center Open House on September 6: An Open House at the Gunnison Workforce Center (109 East Georgia Avenue) from 9 am to 10 am welcomes job seekers and employers.  Meet the staff and learn about a wealth of free services.  No RSVP is necessary.

  • Metro Denver Healthcare Job Fair:  The Workforce Centers serving Denver, Adams, Jefferson, Clear Creek, Gilpin, Arapahoe and Douglas Counties team up to offer the Metro Denver Healthcare Fair from 1:30 pm to 4 pm on September 7 at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel, 83 East 120th Avenue in Thornton.  This event brings together job seekers and employers offering healthcare opportunities (Clinical and Non-Clinical) across the Denver area.

  • Virtual Job Fairs:  Several online job fairs begin September 7.  Walmart in Frisco is filling full-time and part-time positions on September 7 and 8 and Natural Grocers offers a virtual job fair through September 15.  Looking for your next career move in the Colorado Springs area?  The Pikes Peak Workforce Center is holding an online fall job fair all month.  And job opportunities in Gypsum are available at the Work in Gypsum online job fair throughout September.  These online hiring events take place at www.connectingcolorado.com.

  • Learn About Construction Careers:  If you have an interest in a construction trades career, attend the Construction Career Session on September 7 from 6 – 7:30 pm at the Community College of Aurora, 710 Alton Way.  For details, call the Denver Workforce Center at 720-930-4331.

  • Exact Staffing Recruitment Event:  Looking for Job Opportunities in Southern Colorado in Medical, Accounting, Tech or Legal?  The Pueblo Workforce Center at 212 West 3rd Street on September 7 from 9 am to 1 pm.

  • Veterans Hiring Event:  The Denver Office of Workforce Development presents Hire A Veteran at the Bill Daniels Veterans Service Center (1247 Santa Fe Drive in Denver) on September 7 from 9 am to 1 pm.

  • Youth Workforce Event:  High school and college students in Pueblo interested in part-time jobs are invited to the Pueblo Youth Workforce Center on September 7 from 2:30 to 5:30 pm.  This hiring event takes place at the Sangre De Cristo Arts and Conference Center, 210 N. Santa Fe Drive in Pueblo.

  • Caregivers Hiring Event:  Visiting Angels will hold a hiring event at the Larimer County Workforce Center, 200 West Oak Street, Suite 5000 in Fort Collins on September 7 from 1 - 3 pm.

  • Macys Hiring Event:  Macys at Shops at Centerra, 5995 Sky Pond Drive in Loveland will hold an in-store hiring event on Saturday, September 9, from 11 am to 7 pm.  Interviews will take place on the spot.
