La Junta Workforce Center To Showcase Community Resources At Special Event
For immediate release
(LA JUNTA) -- The La Junta Workforce Center will be offering a unique event at its offices at 308 Santa Fe Avenue from 3 - 6 PM on Thursday, December 15. The event will be a One Stop Resource Fair, a single access point to information and services provided by a wide spectrum of organizations.
“This Community Resource Fair will be a gateway for a wealth of resources,” says Workforce Center director Betty Velasquez. “It will provide citizens a single access point to information and services. Representatives from numerous agencies will be on hand to talk about what they provide and answer your questions.”
The fair will bring together key partners and resource providers that are helping to keep Southeast Colorado strong. Among the agencies participating will be socal services, child development services and a family care center. Representatives from these agencies will be available to discuss the resources they make available and answer any questions.
Joining these participants during the three-hour event will be representatives from the La Junta Workforce Center who will talk with job seekers and employers about the services they provide. The La Junta Workforce Center is part of a national workforce preparation and employment system designed to meet both the needs of the nation’s businesses and the needs of job seekers. While it is part of a statewide network, however, it is also very much a part of the community it serves.
“We’re proud to be a part of this community,” Velasquez says. “The people of Otero County, its businesses and resource providers are all invested in its economic growth. Together, we are building the road to the future.”
No reservation is required for the Community Resource Fair. People are simply encouraged to stop by the Workforce Center on December 15 and learn what the various service providers have to offer. To learn more about the event, call the La Junta Workforce Center at 719-383-3191.
