Grand Junction: Public Invited to Stakeholder Meeting on Moving Vocational Rehab to State Labor Department

In March, Governor John Hickenlooper signed legislation into law that will transfer the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) from the Department of Human Services into the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CDLE).

The legislation mandated that public meetings be conducted throughout the state to allow the public, including individuals with disabilities, opportunities to provide input. A meeting has been scheduled in Greeley on September 21.

                                    When:             September 28, 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM

                                    Where:           Mesa County Workforce Center

                                                            512 – 29 ½ Road, Grand Junction

“The meeting will continue an important dialogue between the Department of Labor and Employment and the disability community,” says Executive Director Ellen Golombek “The information shared with us at this meeting – and what we have learned at other meetings -- will help guide our work in developing legislation that will complete the transition and ensure its success.”
