Conference to Focus on Model Used in OBH Opioid Grant

Denver Health is hosting a conference to help improve understanding of the hub and spoke model in the Medication Assisted Treatment-Prescription Drug and Opioid Addiction (MAT-PDOA) grant that the Office of Behavioral Health is implementing in Colorado. The conference is on Feb. 22 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Rita Bass Auditorium at 190 West Sixth Ave. in Denver.

Register for OBH Level II Four Plus Community of Practice Forums

To support the implementation of Level II Four Plus, OBH will host several small Communities of Practice (CoP) Forums across the State. These forums will be approximately 2.5 hours long and are designed to provide practical assistance to agencies who have implemented or are contemplating implementing a Level II Four Plus program.

The Office of Behavioral Health will be presenting the Involuntary Transportation for Immediate Screening proposed rules for first reading at the State Board of Human Services meeting on February 2, 2018, in Fort Collins, Colorado.

Promote National Drug and Alcohol Facts Week for Teens

National Drug and Alcohol Facts Week®, Monday January 22nd through Sunday January 28th, is a health observance week for teens that aims to SHATTER THE MYTHS® about drug and alcohol use. A week dedicated to linking students with scientists and other experts to counteract the myths about drugs and alcohol that teens get from the internet, social media, TV, movies, music, or from friends.

5 year "work-iversary" for Mike Chavez!

Mike Chavez is celebrating 5 years with Platte Canyon W&S District! He began working for Platte Canyon on January 22, 2013 as one of 6 service operators and is certified as a Distribution Level IV, which is the highest level achievable. Along with that certification Mike is also a certified operator Collection Level III, Certified Pesticide Applicator and Certified Backflow Device Tester. Mike has multiple sanitary sewer inspections and assessment certifications including PACP, LACP, and MACP.

Volunteering At JeffCo Action Center

Youth at Lookout Mountain recently volunteered at the Jeffco Action Center to help get their food bank up to speed after the long holiday weekends. The Action Center’s Santa shop was very successful giving thousands of brand new toys to the Lakewood area youth. After the holidays, youth at Lookout Mountain helped to restock empty food bank shelves with frozen and refrigerated food.
