The Division of Youth Corrections (DYC) at Lookout Mountain Youth Services Center received a special request from one of their community partners, Habitat for Humanity. Habitat needed help moving their construction warehouse. Four youth along with two staff members, Tom Pariseau and Rod Tyma, offered to volunteer for the day. On Tuesday January 17, the Habitat staff along with volunteers filled six semi loads of industrial shelving, building materials and wooden pallets.

The CoE is hosting a Summit on Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems in Public Safety on March 15-16, 2017 at Mount Princeton Hot Springs Resort in Nathrop, CO.
Through its many programs, the Fire & Life Safety Section utilizes codes and standards developed by a number of national organizations. In most cases, these codes are adopted as printed. However, the Division has amended some codes in order to meet Colorado-specific concerns. In general, we believe it is better to influence the direction of national codes—as they are widely adopted consensus documents—rather than develop amendments which only apply within the State.
