RFA for Recovery Residence Certifying Body Closes Nov. 8, 2019
House Bill 19-1009 created standards for recovery residences for the purpose of referrals and title protections and prohibits a facility from using the terms “recovery residence”, “sober living facility”, “sober home”, or any like term, unless they meet specific requirements, which includes being certified by a recovery residence certifying body approved by the Office of Behavioral Health. House Bill 19-1009 required the Office of Behavioral Health to create rules to determine the requirements for a recovery residence certifying body seeking approval from the Office of Behavioral Health to certify recovery residences. The Recovery Residence Certifying Body rules were adopted by the State Board of Human Services on October 4, 2019 and are scheduled to go into effect December 1, 2019.
In order to obtain competitive proposals from qualified applicants to serve as a recovery residence certifying body that will receive payment directly from the entities seeking certification a Request for Applications (RFA) was created.
