Operation Christmas Child

CIMG1124.JPGYouth at Platte Valley Youth Services Center (PVYSC) recently participated in Operation Christmas Child for the 12th year in a row! Operation Christmas Child is a yearly event sponsored by church communities throughout the world. Every year, thousands of shoe boxes are packed by volunteers and sent to communities in need in over 100 countries. The items in the shoe boxes include hygiene items, school supplies, clothing items, toys, and much more.

This year, ten PVYSC youth were kind enough to volunteer their time and were able to pack 98 shoe boxes to send to those in need. Our youth were appreciative of the opportunity and excited to share gifts in the spirit of the holiday season. The youth enjoyed packing the various items for 7-8 year old boys and girls. Our youth also wrote holiday greeting cards that were sent with each box, sending words of hope, encouragement, and love.
