The Eco-Friendly Art Festival

The Commonwheel Arts Festival in Manitou Springs highlights the work of many artists who specialize in clay, sculpture, jewelry, glass, photography, and wood. Several booths at the festival sell the beautiful artwork. For many years now, the Commonwheel Festival has dedicated themselves to creating a more sustainable and eco-friendly art festival by adding in recycling and composting programs. This is where the volunteers at Zeb Pike Youth Services Center come in. For the last twelve years, the youth have volunteered their time by assisting in setting up and taking down festival tents and equipment and by helping with trash and recycle detail. This year the team at Zebulon Pike contributed 80 hours to the cause! The event was a huge success and the youth gained a unique experience from their volunteering.
