Turkey Trot 5K Fun Run
The 7th Annual 5K Turkey Trot will be held at Pathfinder Park between Cañon City and Florence on CO Hwy 115 Saturday, November 17th. It will take runners through Pathfinder Park on the system of trails. This is a relatively flat course and suits runners of all abilities. This is a great way to spend a beautiful November Saturday before Thanksgiving. This year it is a Fun Run, meaning it is not a timed event. Participants are encouraged to dress up in a costume and dogs are welcome, but you must clean up after them. Have your pets in costume as well. Participants may run or walk the 5K and there will be multiple stations along the course. At these stations you will construct a turkey headband and receive a ticket. At the end of the race the awards will be drawn from the tickets you received along the course. Remember this is not for a time; it is about exercising and having fun outdoors ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday. All of the proceeds from the run will benefit Recreation District programming. Following the Turkey Trot there will be concessions available and the awards presentation will follow. So bring the entire family and have a good time. We will still offer a turkey to the fastest male and female runners and the best costumes for both people and pets.
The entries are $25 by November 9th, or $35 from November 10th until race day. All participants will receive a Shirt and fruit and water will be provided before and after the race. Click on the links below to register online.
