Royal Gorge Whitewater Festival
The 9th Annual Royal Gorge Whitewater Festival (RGWF) on June 23 and 24, 2017 promises to be the biggest and best event yet. The RGWF will be at Centennial Park (Duck Park) and is loaded with whitewater and bicycle events, incredible bands, a large beer garden, great food, a kid's fun zone, and amazing vendors.
There is a wide array of events for beginning to expert level whitewater enthusiasts to enjoy at the RGWF, including the challenging Downriver Raft and Kayak races through the Royal Gorge, the Build Your Own Boat (ByOB) Race, Duckie Dash, SUP Sprint and inner tube races. The Whitewater Adventure Race (WAR) is a run/obstacle course for those who want to be challenged on land. Younger participants can get in on the fun and the mud in the Youth Adventure Race. There are plenty of events to choose from, all you need is an adventurous soul!
For those who want to kick back and enjoy the park, entertainment will be provided through a great band line up. You don't want to miss this festival, it's all about Boats, Bands and Beer. All of the proceeds will benefit the expansion of the Whitewater Park through WKRP, the programs of the Recreation District, the Fremont Community Foundation, and Cañon City Chamber of Commerce. This truly is a the ultimate summer party for the entire family!
