Health and Wellness
The CCIA Health and Wellness Committee serves as the coordinating body for addressing tribal-state health and wellness priorities consisting of tribal, local, state and federal partners seeking to improve the health status of tribal members. The responsibilities of the Health and Wellness Committee are:
- To identify key tribal health issues and prioritize recommendations and actions for addressing tribal health concerns collaboratively and in a culturally respectful way;
- To coordinate relationships between tribal health and state health programs, particularly regarding prevention and health promotion;
- To guide the State of Colorado and local public health and healthcare providers on how to best work in partnership with the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe and the Southern Ute Indian Tribe; and
- To identify funding opportunities with the two Ute Tribes to address the health and wellness priorities.
