New CBI Director Takes Oath of Office
01/10/2018—The ninth director in the history of the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) was sworn into office at a ceremony at CBI headquarters in Lakewood on January 3, 2018.
John Camper took the Colorado Department of Public Safety (CDPS) Oath of Office signifying the start of his tenure as the CBI’s director at the ceremony.
With a law enforcement career spanning nearly four decades, Camper joins the CBI having most recently served as the Chief of Police for the Grand Junction Police Department.
“John possesses extensive law enforcement experience and is a proven leader in the public safety community across Colorado and the nation, and we look forward to his arrival to serve as the next director of the CBI.” said CDPS Executive Director Hilkey.
Camper was selected for the position following a comprehensive hiring process in the fall. He replaces Michael Rankin who left the CBI for a private sector position in September 2017.
“It is a tremendous honor to serve as the director of the CBI, and I look forward to joining this vibrant organization that is committed to exceptional customer service,” said Camper.
