CDPS Hosts Veterans Day Ceremony

11/09/2017—The Colorado Department of Public Safety (CDPS) hosted a special ceremony to honor those with military service as part of a Veterans Day tribute on Thursday, November 9, 2017.

A frosty November morning didn’t stop more than 100 CDPS employees, family and friends from coming together at CDPS headquarters near 6th and Kipling in Lakewood to pay tribute to those who have dedicated their lives to ensure the freedom of our nation.

CDPS Executive Director Stan Hilkey talked about the commitment of those who have served this nation, and encouraged the audience to engage in groups and activities to help our veterans throughout the year.

Following the posting of the Colors by the Colorado State Patrol Honor Guard, nearly 30 students comprising the Creighton Concert Choir performed a touching rendition of the National Anthem as well as a song entitled, ‘My America.’

The 7th and 8th grade students of the Creighton Concert Choir are from Creighton Middle School (50 S. Kipling St.) in Lakewood. The choir is directed by Mrs. Laura Ahn.
