Forensic Accreditation

The Colorado Bureau of Investigations Forensic Services' five laboratories are accredited by ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB).  Accreditation is based on ISO/IEC 17025: 2005 standard, the American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors/Laboratory Accreditation Board (ASCLD/LAB)-International Supplemental Requirements for the Accreditation of Forensic Testing Laboratories (2011). 
Additionally the toxicology sections are accredited to the American Board of Forensic Toxicology (ABFT) Forensic Toxicology Laboratory Accreditation Checklist (2013). and certified by the Colorado Department of Health and Environment (CDPHE) to perform human performance and postmortem toxicology.
Additionally the DNA casework sections are inspected to the FBI's Quality Assurance Standards for DNA Casework Laboratories (2011). The DNA database section is inspected to the FBI's Quality Assurance Standards for DNA Databasing Laboratories (2011).
