The mission of the Canon City Fire District is to provide services that mitigate hazards to life and property from the perils of fire, medical emergencies, and hazardous materials and technical rescue incidents
The Canon City Fire District provides emergency response, emergency prevention and community education to nearly 35,000 residents living a 122 square mile district, as well as protecting Red Canyon Park and the Royal Gorge Park. CCFD also serves as the Hazmat Response Team for all Fremont County. Additional responses to swift water rescues, high angle rescues, and wildland fire incidents.
The area is served from two staffed stations. The average response time on 61% of calls is 2-5 minutes.
CCFD works in cooperation with area ambulance, sheriff, forest service and neighboring fire districts to provide protection and education.
