Workplace Skills Coaching
CSEAP now offers coaching services to all State of Colorado employees. Workplace Skills Coaching seeks to support coachees in building conflict management, emotional management, and interpersonal skills for the workplace. Employees (coachees) can access up to (6) coaching sessions per year, free-of-charge. Workplace Skills Coaching is open to all employees including leaders, mid-level managers and supervisors, as well as staff with no supervisory duties. This service is available in all CSEAP offices and via video.
Build workplace capacity in Conflict Management, Interpersonal Skills, and Emotional Management by participating in Workplace Skills Coaching. These sessions, available to all state employees, are free-of-charge. Coachees receive up to (6) coaching sessions annually either in-person or via video. Employees may request coaching on their own; Supervisors and managers are also able to refer employees for coaching services.
Coaching Content Areas include the following:
- Managing Conflict in the Workplace. Employees will gain an understanding of their default conflict style, how to flex conflict mode to meet the needs of the situation, and strategies for managing difficult workplace situations.
- Managing Emotions in the Workplace. Employees will gain insight into how emotions impact workplace behavior. Topics covered include identifying emotional "triggers," becoming aware of 'thinking traps', and strategizing appropriate behavioral responses in the workplace.
- Interpersonal Skills for the Workplace. Employees will discuss alignment of their behavior with the expectations and norms of their organization. Topics covered may include basic tenets of workplace respect and professionalism, managing workplace relationships using Emotional Intelligence, and behaviors related to harassment, ethics, and civility at work.
