Voting has opened for 2015 Colorado's Most Significant Artifacts

Nominations are in for Colorado's 2015 Most Significant Artifacts, and the Colorado State Archives' historic mug shot collection has made the list of finalists!

The historic mug shot collection covers approximately a century, from 1871 to the 1970s. It includes individuals from all walks of life, from the notorious (Alfred/Alferd Packer) to the virtually unknown. Many of the early photos are labeled on the back with the inmate's name, physical description, crime, sentence, etc. Additional information on the individuals pictured in the mug shots is sometimes also available in our textual corrections collection.

Join us in celebrating Colorado's historic and cultural artifacts! Each item included as a finalist tells a story, and collectively this slate of candidates represents a diverse history of Colorado.  Vote for your favorite today!

Voting ends November 30th.  The Top 10 will be announced in December 2015.
