The Colorado Department of Agriculture's Pesticides Program regulates the distribution and use of pesticides in the state to prevent adverse impacts to the public and the environment.

The Pesticides Program has three sections:

Licenses and inspects all commercial and private pesticide applicators to ensure the use, storage and disposal of pesticides and certain devices are done in accordance with state and federal laws.

Investigates alleged misuse of pesticides and takes appropriate enforcement actions based on evidence that reflects that violations have occurred.

Registers all pesticides sold in the state and licenses and inspects pesticide dealers for the sales of Restricted Use pesticides.
