Public Notice

  • The LWSD has been contacted by the Range Planned Development, who is currently planning to build a large scale housing development in the area East of Louviers, on the East side of HWY 85.
  • In exchange for LWSD and community support, Range Planned Development has offered to connect us to a renewable water source at their expense.
  • LWSD has considered different options over the last year including treatment of our existing well water or the drilling of a new well. This renewable water connection being offered by Range Planning Development would alleviate our radium issue and move us off of well water.
  • LWSD believes this is our best option to address our water issue and we are continuing talks with Range Planned Development.
  • This is in no way related to the Brannon batch plant development issue.
  • This renewable water connection will not resolve our water and sewer infrastructure issues. LWSD is continuing to plan for and fund these improvements. There may however be opportunities in the future to address these issues with further assistance from the Range Planned Development.

Please see the violation notice below regarding high levels of combined radium content. Attached as well is a document from the EPA regarding Radium. Please view the third link for options the board has been pursuing to correct the Radium issue.
