The Benefits Utilization System (BUS) is the electronic case management system of record used by Single Entry Point agencies, Community Centered Boards, and Private Case Management Agencies to document member contact and other information necessary to ensure people can live everyday lives in the community. The BUS is where the majority of members’ service plans and other assessment information is stored. Access is limited to staff of qualified case management agencies enrolled into Health First Colorado.
The BUS is maintained by the Governor’s Office of Information Technology and is not connected to any other Information Technology systems.
The Bridge is the electronic interface where Home and Community Based Services case managers enter and maintain Prior Authorizations for eligible Health First Colorado members. Designed and maintained by the Department’s Fiscal Agent, DXC, it is a subsystem of the Colorado interChange, the Medicaid Management Information System.
The Bridge also houses aspects of members’ service plans not maintained in the Benefits Utilization System. Access is limited to staff of qualified case management agencies enrolled into Health First Colorado.
The DDDWeb is a computer data system that provides program administration functions to direct service providers of individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, as well as employees of the Department of Health Care Policy and Financing.
The DDDWeb is maintained by the Governor’s Office of Information Technology and is not connected to any other Information Technology systems.
The Care and Case Management System is intended to be an electronic case management system maintained by a third party vendor. With a planned implementation of June 2021, the system will integrate and replace the functions supported by the Benefits Utilization System (BUS), the Bridge, and the DDDWeb. Once implemented, the system will integrate with the interChange and the Colorado Benefits Management System (CBMS).
The Department is working with DXC and Medecision to ensure the system is configured appropriately to meet the unique needs of case managers and other end-users of Aerial.
