DENVER - Today, Governor Polis, joined by Lt. Governor Primavera, signed SB25-073- Military-Connected Children With Disabilities, sponsored by Senators Larry Liston and Janice Marchman, and Representatives Rebecca Keltie and Matthew Martinez. The bill helps ensure that military-connected children with disabilities in Colorado are guaranteed access to their existing education program upon enrollment in a Colorado school, and prior to the start of their first day.

ENGLEWOOD – Lt. Governor Dianne Primavera has announced that Englewood Middle School is an award recipient of the 2025 NLGA Lt. Governors STEM Scholarship Program. NLGA will award the school $1,000 as part of a national call for applications for funding STEM programming and curriculum in schools.

DENVER — Colorado Governor Jared Polis, Illinois Governor JB Pritzker, Maryland Governor Wes Moore, New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham, and Oregon Governor Tina Kotek issued a joint letter to Peter Nelson, Director of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). The letter is in response to the Marketplace Integrity and Affordability Proposed Rule (CMS-9884-P “Proposed Rule”), which would restrict states’ ability to regulate their health insurance marketplaces, causing confusion among customers, limiting enrollment options for low-income families, and ultimately disrupting local healthcare landscapes and making coverage less accessible to residents. The Governors urged Director Nelson to withdraw the Proposed Rule and ensure states retain flexibility in the health insurance marketplace.

STATEWIDE - The Colorado Department of Local Affairs’ (DOLA) Division of Local Government (DLG) has set aside up to $2 million for an incentive program to encourage early adoption of fast-track policies, otherwise known as expedited development review. Communities that implement fast-track policies reduce housing costs and boost supply by eliminating delays that drive up project expenses. Local governments that adopt a Proposition 123-compliant expedited review process by December 31, 2025 (one year ahead of the December 2026 deadline) will receive up to $50,000 in grant funding, with no local match required.

DENVER - Today, on World Quantum Day, the Polis Administration and Elevate Quantum announced the Blueprint for Advancing K–12 Quantum Information Technology, which puts forth a bold vision to prepare Colorado students for the technology careers of the future. The Blueprint outlines clear steps for lawmakers, educators, and district leaders to expand access to quantum education and provides a phased strategy to bring Quantum Information Science and Technology (QIST) concepts into classrooms, support educators, and engage students across Colorado.
