DENVER — Tuesday, April 10, 2018 — Gov. John Hickenlooper and Lt. Gov. Donna Lynne today kicked off One Book 4 Colorado 2018, announcing Groovy Joe’s Dance Party Countdown by Eric Litwin as this year’s book selection. From April 9-20, events and book giveaways are scheduled at public and military libraries, Denver Preschool Program preschools, and other venues across the state.
“I encourage every family to pick up this year’s One Book 4 Colorado selection and read together,” said Governor John Hickenlooper. “We know that today’s young readers become tomorrow’s leaders.”
One Book 4 Colorado annually gives away more than 75,000 copies of the same book to every 4-year-old in the state in English or Spanish. Books are distributed at public and military libraries across the state and participating Denver Preschool Programs.The community votes for the winning book. This year’s finalists were Groovy Joe’s Dance Party Countdown by Eric Litwin, Penguins Love Colors by Sarah Aspinall, and a Pet for Fly Guy by Tedd Arnold.
