DENVER — Thursday, April 14, 2016 — Gov. John Hickenlooper announced today his appointments of Jay Grant and Jennifer Torrington to serve as district court judges in the 2nd Judicial District (Denver). Grant and Torrington will fill vacancies created by the retirement of the Honorable R. Michael Mullins and the resignation of the Honorable Ann B. Frick.
Gov. Hickenlooper endorses water project that brings benefits to northern Front Range, Western Slope
DENVER — Wednesday, April 13, 2016 — Gov. John Hickenlooper today formally endorsed the Windy Gap Firming Project, a water project that will serve cities and farmers on the northern Front Range as well as provide environmental benefits on the Western Slope.
The project expands the existing Windy Gap system built in the 1980s and includes the planned Chimney Hollow Reservoir southwest of Loveland to ensure more reliable supplies for the Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District and other project participants. It also includes several protective measures for fish and waterways on the Western Slope.

The Limon Memorial Library and the Limon Child Development Center are partnering together to host this event.
The 2016 selection was announced Monday, April 11 at the One Book 4 Colorado launch event held at the Rodolfo “Corky” Gonzales Library. One Book 4 Colorado was launched in 2012 to encourage early childhood literacy by giving away 75,000 books to four-year-olds across Colorado. Events will take place across the state at public and military libraries, Denver Preschool Program preschools and other venues until the program ends April 25.

The State Rehabilitation Council advises State Rehabilitation Services on the provision of appropriate and quality services to its customers. A majority of its members must be persons with disabilities.

Voters choose Giraffes Can’t Dance by Giles Andreae
DENVER — Monday, April 11, 2016 — Gov. John Hickenlooper and Denver Mayor Michael B. Hancock announced Giraffes Can’t Dance by Giles Andreae is the official 2016 One Book 4 Colorado selection, officially launching the 2016 One Book 4 Colorado program at the Rodolfo “Corky” Gonzales Branch of the Denver Public Library.
One Book 4 Colorado gives away 75,000 copies of the same book to every 4-year-old in the state in English or Spanish. Books are distributed at public and military libraries across the state and participating Denver Preschool Programs.

The Advisory Committee on Licensing of Child Care Facilities counsels the Department of Human Services on the licensing of child care facilities, including day care centers, family care homes, residential child care facilities and camps.
