DENVER — Thursday, Oct. 15, 2015 — Gov. John Hickenlooper today order flags be lowered to half-staff tomorrow, Friday, Oct. 16, on all public buildings statewide in memory of North Metro Firefighter Craig Moilanen. Flags should be lowered from sunrise to sunset.
Moilanen, 36, died on Oct. 8 of complications from acute lymphoblastic leukemia, a disease he sustained through his work as a firefighter. Moilanen is survived by his wife Amy, their two children and family members.
A memorial service will be held Friday, Oct. 16 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Parish, 6673 W. Chatfield, Littleton. The service is open to the public.
