Ensure Colorado Children Have Access to Healthy Meals During Summer Months

School districts across Colorado are closed for summer break, but children and youth ages 0-18 can still access free meal sites all summer long.

Colorado received waivers from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. They allow children and youth to take meals from meal sites and consume them elsewhere as well as other flexibilities for social distancing. The goal of these alternative meal services is to provide meals to children and youth while limiting interaction and proximity to other people, therefore, decreasing the risk of COVID-19 exposure.

Households that qualify can receive USDA Food packages through USDA Foods household programs. View Hunger Free Colorado's COVID-19 website for additional resources.

Parents and children can find free summer meal sites near them by:

• Texting FOOD or COMIDA to 877-877

• Using this interactive map to find local meal locations.
