The 2020 national enforcement mobilization "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" goes into effect across the country from August 19 to September 7, 2020. One of the deadliest and most often committed - yet preventable - of crimes (impaired driving), has become a serious safety epidemic in our country.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), in coordination with the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) and the Federal Transit Administration (FTA), is launching the 2020 national rail grade crossing safety campaign to increase public awareness about the dangers around railroad tracks in hopes to reduce fatalities at rail grade crossings.

Motor vehicles are the primary mode of transportation for most of us, and often, an indispensable part of our lives. Having said this, nearly $6 billion was lost to motor vehicle thefts in 2018. What would happen if yours suddenly disappeared?
There were 748,841 motor vehicles stolen in 2018.
Only 59.3% of all stolen motor vehicles were recovered.
Of all motor vehicles stolen, 74.8% were passenger vehicles.
The National Seat Belt Enforcement Mobilization is May 11-31, 2020
Statistics show that passenger vehicle occupants are buckling up more during the day, but not enough at night. This mobilization is created to increase awareness 24-7, but a strong enforcement effort is urged between the nighttime hours of 6 p.m. and 5:59 a.m. due to the significant number of violators and fatal crashes during this time.

April is National Distracted Driving Awareness Month and, in support of this traffic safety initiative, NHTSA will be kicking off its annual "U Text. U Drive. U Pay." national high visibility enforcement campaign to prevent distracted driving.
In 2017, pedestrian fatalities in Colorado reached an all-time high. Ninety-three lives were lost last year, up 11 percent from the 84 pedestrian fatalities in 2016 and up 45 percent from 2015 when 64 pedestrians died.
