• Motorcycle Awareness Month

Motorcyclists have all the same rights and privileges as any motor vehicle driver on the roadway. During Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month in May - and during the rest of the year - drivers of all other vehicles and all road users are reminded to safely "share the road" with motorcyclists, and to be extra alert to help keep motorcyclists safe.

  • 2016 National Police Week

    May 15 - May 21, 2016

In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation which designated May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which that date falls as Police Week. Currently, tens of thousands of law enforcement officers from around the world converge on Washington, DC to participate in a number of planned events which honor those that have paid the ultimate sacrifice.

The Memorial Service began in 1982 as a gathering in Senate Park of approximately 120 survivors and supporters of law enforcement. Decades later, the event, more commonly known as National Police Week, has grown to a series of events which attracts thousands of survivors and law enforcement officers to our Nation's Capital each year.

The Blue Alert Foundation and Blue Line Across America are pleased to offer this 'Limited Edition' National Police Week 2016 Honor Roll shirt to serve as a 'walking memorial' to the men and woman who gave their lives in the line of duty during 2015.

  • Law Enforcement Candle Vigil

Please join us in uniform or in casual clothes as we gather with our families and friends to recognize all of Colorado's fallen heroes, including those who lost their lives in 2015 and are being placed on the National Law Enforcement Memorial on this same day, Friday, May 13th.  At approximately 7:45 PM we will have a moment of silence at the CSP Academy in Golden and light candles in honor of these heroes.  In addition to paying tribute to all officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice we want to join together as one to recognize the commitment, honor and family that the blue line is for each of us as our law enforcement continues each and every day to serve and protect.

Family participation is encouraged.  We will have blue glow bracelets for children in lieu of candles.

If you are unable to attend, please post this candle as your profile image on social media on Friday, May 13th by using this web link for at least 24 hours in honor of names being added to the National Law Enforcement Memorial as well as to unite each of us as honored to be part of this blue family, supporting those who gave all, and those who continue to serve with honor and pride.
