Kit Taintor is the Colorado State Refugee Coordinator, responsible for statewide coordination of Colorado’s refugee resettlement program. She oversees the Colorado Refugee Services Program (CRSP) which is part of the Colorado Department of Human Services. Prior to her appointment as State Refugee Coordinator, Kit served CRSP as the Grant and Program Manager and worked with refugees and immigrants as the Executive Director of the Colorado African Organization. Kit’s background includes graduate study at Tulane University’s School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. She has a BA in English Literature from the University of Virginia. She served in the Peace Corps as a volunteer in Mulanje District, Malawi, and has worked extensively in both Uganda and Malawi.
