On the evening of November 12, 1982, members of the Denver Police Department responded to the liquor store located on the 2600 block of Larimer Street on a report of a robbery. Upon arrival, officers found 40 year old Savino Nuanes dead inside of the business; there had been an apparent robbery. Savino "Joe" Nuanes was the long time owner of Joe's Liquor Store.
