About this Case:

Michael "Mike" Hernandez lived in northwest Denver. He worked for Barnett Lumber as a welder. On the night of April 18, 1971, Mr. Hernandez was in an altercation outside the Jolly Roger Bar located near the intersection of West 17th Avenue and Federal Boulevard. He was found unconscious with severe injuries to his head. Mr. Hernandez survived for nearly 7 months, but remained in a vegetative state. On November 7, 1971 Mr. Hernandez succumbed to his significant injuries. He was the father or four children.
