About this Case:

On June 27, 1976 officers were in the parking lot across the street from the White Spot Diner, located on the 600 block of East Colfax, when they heard what sounded like a gunshot. Officers proceeded over to the lot and found the body of 18 year old Mary DeLaughter shot. Further investigation found Mary and a friend were walking by the White Spot Diner when multiple men pulled up in a car and told them to get in. When Mary and her friend refused, the driver of the vehicle pulled out a gun and shot Mary. Mary was an apparent runaway from another state and was never positively identified. She lived at various places in the Capitol Hill area and was also known by the names of Mary Panzan or Mary DeLauther.
