On April 20, 2002, 20 year old Rodney Tate was a passenger in a car traveling eastbound on Martin Luther King Boulevard, near Monaco Street, when an unknown vehicle with unknown suspects pulled up next to Rodney's vehicle and fired several shots into the car killing, Mr. Tate and wounding the driver.
