On the late evening of May 21, 1975, 33 year old Jimmie Smith had just left Glenn's Grill. As Jimmie Smith was near his vehicle he was shot by an unknown suspect. Jimmie Smith was immediately transported to a local hospital, but died shortly after as a result of his injuries. Prior to his death, Jimmie Smith spent time in the state of Kentucky.
