Department of Town and County Planning
The Town of Silverton and San Juan County, although separate governing entities, share a joint planning and building department, including a planner, building official, and code enforcement officer. This is the web page for this joint department and includes information for planning matters in both the town and the county. Note that the links on the left are divided into town and county matters; be sure to use the links and forms appropriate for your inquiry.The joint office of Town and County Planning in Silverton Town Hall at 1360 Greene Street. The planning office is open to the public Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm. The building inspector is available 9am to 5pm Monday and Tuesday or by appointment other times in the week. The public are welcome to stop by or set up an appointment. Staff is often out in the field, so an appointment is recommended.
