We need help sorting gently used donations and shelving them in our thrift store. We depend on thrift store revenues to help provide the basic needs of housing, food, Rx assistance, a hand towards self sufficiency and more. Join Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado (VOC) and the Colorado Fourteeners Initiative (CFI) to restore the trail of Grays and Torreys Peaks, two of Colorado’s most popular 14ers. Help repair the high-use trail which, in its current condition, causes active soil erosion and damage to neighboring sensitive alpine plant communities. Free camping is provided Friday night through Sunday afternoon. Free meals are provided beginning with Saturday morning breakfast and ending with Sunday lunch.

Project Description

This special Film Screening and Tribute Event will feature the new documentary New York Says Thank You, an inspirational film that profiles a national pay-it-forward movement that is mobilizing volunteers around disaster-affected communities in the US.  The story evolved from a 5-year-old New York City boy’s idea to help others after 9/11.  Attendees will be invited to join the 9/11 tribute movement by pledging to spend time helping and being kind to others in honor of the victims and heroes.

Xcel Energy volunteers will volunteer to get the word out about a free dental clinic coming to Brush in October.  Volunteers will find organizations/businesses with addresses in the NE Colorado area to send flyers and request their support to spread the word in their area.  We will also encourage employees to participate in the actual event October 21 and 22nd or to set up/tear down.
