NURSING CARE FACILITY (NCF) - a health institution planned, organized, operated and maintained to provide facilities and health services with related social care to in-patients who require regular medical care and 24 hour nursing services for illness, injury or disability. Each patient shall be under the care of a physician licensed to practice medicine in the state of Colorado. The nursing services shall be organized an maintained to provide 24 hour nursing service under the direction of a registered professional nurse employed full time.
Businesses must apply for facility license BEFORE accepting patients. Facility licensing fee $2,500 (0 to 25,000 sq/ft) plus $0.10 per foot extended.
The Division, under the direction of the Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA), also determines eligibility of the facility for Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement certification. Contact HFD for further information is you wish your facility to be eligible
