Project description The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Colorado Holiday Commission is organizing "Back to 'Cleanin' - Remembering Memphis!" to commemorate the memory of Dr. King. We will divide into teams to clean up the Martin Luther King Marade route from City Park to Civic Center Park.
We will be honoring the sanitation workers of Memphis as we make a statement to Denver about the greater purpose of the MLK, Jr. Commission. All participants will receive a commemorative t-shirt that they can proudly wear at Monday's Marade. If your group or you are interested in participating, please call Jacqui Shumway at 303-744-7676 by Wednesday, Jan 16, so we can have enough shirts, gloves, and trash bags.
Project location On Saturday, January 19th, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. , meet at the MLK Memorial statue in City Park. We will divide into teams to clean up the Martin Luther King Marade route from City Park to Civic Center Park.

What should participants bring? Gloves, and trash bags...
These will also be provided, along with commemorative shirts.

Project description Beckwourth Mountain Club’s Outdoor Education Center will be conducting a jacket and school supply drive to benefit individuals from Family Tree, a local nonprofit organization that assists individuals that are homeless and victims of domestic violence.
Upon ending the drive, students receive a 1 hour class to educate them on the circumstances around homelessness and be more aware about homelessness, which highly affects the city of Denver.
Project location The class about homelessness will be taught at Family Tree in Wheat Ridge, CO.
Donations can be made at the Beckwourth office, located at 700 24th St in Denver, CO.
Do you need volunteers? Volunteers are needed to donate new and used jackets and school supplies.
What should participants bring? Participants should bring donations and a lunch for the class.
