The Governor's Biofuels Coalition

Thank you for your interest in the Governor’s Biofuels Coalition (GBC) program. As part of our goal to expand the availability of alternative fuels to consumers in Colorado, the Coalition is offering funding to qualifying facilities. Please review this section where you will find an Application and a Support Matrix, which outlines the criteria for qualification.

The Support Matrix identifies the key factors that the coalition considers when determining the amount of funding it will grant. Key areas include:

  • For E85, the flex fuel vehicle population
  • Location of the station in relation to where infrastructure is needed
  • Whether E85 and biodiesel will be offered
  • Having an established fuel partner
  • Proximity and access for fleets and consumers that will use biofuels

A maximum of 35% of the net project costs after-tax incentive but no more than $15,000 per applicant for E85 infrastructure and $10,000 for biodiesel infrastructure may be awarded. Marketing support may be provided separately based on different criteria.

The GBC has developed a policy and strategy for infrastructure funding support for municipal and other non-tax paying entities. These entities should use the "Local Government" materials listed below to apply for support.

For additional information, please contact Stacey Simms at the Governor’s Energy Office, at (303) 866-2308 or Stacey.Simms@state.co.us. After we receive your request, a representative from the GBC will contact you.

Thank you again for your interest in building biofuels infrastructure in Colorado!

Sincerely,
Gerry Harrow, President
