Small Scale Wind

Colorado abounds in opportunities for community-based, or small scale, wind power. Unlike large scale wind power, these opportunities tend not to be concentrated geographically in any one area of the state. Both the wind potential and the technical challenges can vary significantly between neighboring areas around the state. It is difficult, therefore, to geographically describe the potential for small-scale wind power the same way as for large scale wind. More information about small scale wind will be found here soon. GEO currently supports the following small scale wind programs in Colorado:

  • Anemometer Loan Program
  • Small Wind Incentive Program
  • Wind for Schools Program
