Solar Home Prewire
House Bill 09-1149, "Concerning Measures to Encourage the Construction of New Homes that Make Cost-Effective Use of Solar Energy" requires that homebuilders building new homes in Colorado offer the buyer that is under contract to purchase the home the option of having the home pre-wired for a solar electric system and/or pre-plumbed for a solar thermal system. In addition, the builder is required to provide the buyer with a list of solar contractors. The Governor's Energy Office (GEO) is required to maintain a list of solar contractors and provide it to homebuilders for this purpose.
