Efficiency in the Home
Energy efficiency, saving energy wherever possible, is the foundation of Colorado's New Energy Economy. All the solar panels and wind turbines in the world will only do so much if energy is still being wasted.
Just as you would never think of throwing trash out of your car window, don't be careless and wasteful with energy. Even if you think you can afford to waste it, remember that you, as an individual, are not paying the full cost. The full cost of energy use is not what you pay at the gas pump or on your utility bill. The full cost includes pollution, contribution to climate change, and the risks that come with relying on non-renewable sources that will eventually run out.
The good news is, within your home you have ample opportunity to save energy (and money) by making smart decisions. You have a choice every time you leave a room, purchase an appliance, build a new home, or make improvements to your existing house. Within this section, you'll find information and resources to help you make informed decisions about energy efficiency in your home.
