New Rules for Workers'
Compensation Hearings Effective January 1, 2006
On August 17, 2005, the Office of
Administrative Courts filed a formal Notice of Rule-Making
Hearing, proposed Procedural Rules for Workers' Compensation
Hearings, and a Statement of Statutory Authority, Basis and
Purpose with the Colorado Secretary of State and the Colorado
Department of Regulatory Agencies. The rule-making hearing
is scheduled to occur on Friday, October 7, 2005, at 9:00 a.m., at
the Office of Administrative Courts, 633 Seventeenth St., Suite
1300, Denver, Colorado 80202. Interested parties are invited
to attend the hearing and provide comments regarding the proposed

On October 26, 2005, Executive
Director Jeff Wells formally adopted Procedural Rules for Workers'
Compensation Hearings which will govern procedures to be followed
at the Colorado Office of Administrative Courts in Workers'
Compensation adjudications. On November 15, 2005, the adopted
rules, along with the formal adoption document and the opinion of
the Attorney General, were filed with the Colorado Secretary of
State and the Legislative Drafting Office. These rules will be
published in the December 12, 2005, edition of the Colorado
Register (1 CCR 104-1) and will become effective on January 1,
2006.
