The Bid Information and Distribution System (BIDS) is a web site
designed to notify interested vendors of the State of Colorado's
intent to purchase goods or services. It also lists the State
Price Agreements for commodities and services, Construction
Notices, and gives information on the Small Business Development
program. Purchasing agents normally use
the BIDS System when they need to competitively purchase goods
costing over $5,000 and services costing over $25,000. The specific
dollar limits vary from agency to agency and the nature of the good
or service being sought can impact whether or not the solicitation
is placed on BIDS. Construction projects under $50,000 may also be
advertised on BIDS. The BIDS web site is located at http://www.gssa.state.co.us.
The Bid Information and Distribution System (BIDS) is developed
in Lotus Notes by Technology Management Unit staff for use by the State
Purchasing Office, an agency of the State of Colorado Department
of Personnel & Administration.
