Julius W. Kraft, Identification Card Booklet, KIA Photographs and Surveys of Casualties from This collection originated from a project undertaken in 1947 to collect information regarding Colorado's enlisted men in World War II, specifically those who sacrificed their lives in the conflict. This collection's holdings include survey sheets that provide information on the subject's family, service history, education, employment, and circumstances of death. Since the parents of the servicemen were often the ones who filled out the survey sheet, photographs and personal letters were attached to many of the forms. A sampling of the collection is below, and an index to the collection is available on-line. The Colorado State Archives has a wealth of genealogical information. We will respond to mail and phone requests but suggest that you conduct any extensive research at our facility whenever possible because of the voluminous nature of the material. We have search, handling, and copy fees. Please contact us in order to find out the charges for your request. Address all inquiries to the Colorado State Archives.
