The Colorado State Archives has many records which document the
State's public school system including its administration,
teachers, and students. These records may be used for historical
and genealogical research or for verifying a person's age in the
absence of a birth certificate.
The types of records available and their chronological span
varies greatly by county, especially regarding the School Census
records. It is best to call ahead of time in order to find out
what is available before making a special trip to the Archives.
