E X E C U T I V E O R D E R

AMENDING EXECUTIVE ORDER D010 98 DECLARING A STATE OF
EMERGENCY DUE TO THE MURDER AND INJURY OF
LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS

WHEREAS, Executive Order D010 98, dated June 2, 1998, was issued to provide Colorado National Guard assistance to the search efforts for the three heavily armed men who shot and killed a Cortez police officer and wounded other officers; and

WHEREAS, two of the men remain at large and various search, response and mitigation efforts are continuing; and

WHEREAS, Executive Order D010 98 expires on June 7, 1998, unless otherwise extended.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Roy Romer, Governor of the State of Colorado, under the authority vested in me by the Constitution and laws of the State of Colorado, including Sections 24-32-2104 and 28-3-104, C.R.S., do hereby confirm my verbal order issued on June 7, 1998, that Executive Order D010 98 be extended until June 10, 1998.
