| WHEREAS, | the federal government has encouraged Colorado to form planning and management districts or regions; and |

| WHEREAS, | on November 12, 1972, Governor John A. Love delineated twelve planning and management districts for the State of Colorado effective as of January 1, 1973, (subsequently increased to thirteen by Executive Order of November 30, 1973 and to fourteen by Executive Order of April 1, 1986); and |
|
|
| WHEREAS, | said November 17, 1972 Executive Order recognized that: "The Governor may, after consultation with the Department of Local Affairs and local units of government involved, revise the designation of the districts to reflect changing conditions or to otherwise fulfill the purpose of this order"; and |
|
|
| WHEREAS, | Routt County has requested that it be realigned from Planning and Management Region XII to Planning and Management Region XI; and |
|
|
| WHEREAS, | the Department of Local Affairs has determined that this request is supported by the local governments and regional agencies affected by the request; and |
|
|
| WHEREAS, | the Department of Local Affairs has determined that there is no opposition to the request among state agencies. |
NOW THEREFORE, I Roy Romer, Governor of the State of Colorado, under the authority vested in me by the laws and Constitution of the State of Colorado, do hereby designate the regions delineated on the map attached hereto (and hereby made a part of this order) as the fourteen Planning and Management Regions for the State of Colorado, effective October 1, 1998.
State agencies are directed to work with the two regions and affected jurisdictions to
resolve any contractual and/ or operational issues in a mutually satisfactory manner.
