What's New
These web pages have been added to our site or
significantly modified to improve public access to Colorado's archival
records:
- November 1, 2006 - We have
digitized many original documents and are increasing the collection
often. They are now on-line and categorized by subject.

- October 4, 2006 - We have
digitized some recordings from D-Day (June 6, 1944) so that you can
now listen on-line to news broadcasts from that day.

- August 30, 2006 - Land patents
issued by the State of Colorado from 1878-1970 have been indexed and
loaded onto the
Historical Records Database.
There are over 7,300 entries.
- May 23, 2006 - Early Court of
Appeals case files from 1891-1911 have been indexed by both
plaintiff and defendant and added to the
Historical Records Database.
Besides civil cases between citizens of Colorado, the case files
include many cases between individuals and corporations as well as
criminal cases. Please note that these are cases appealed from the
trial courts to the Court of Appeals.
- April 20, 2006 - The Denver,
Boulder and Elbert County pre-1907 Birth Index is now loaded onto
the Historical Records
Database. There are over
25,000 entries in these indexes.
- April 19, 2006 -
WWI Civilian Service Questionnaires -
(1917-1922)
have been added to the
Online Indexes.
This index is also part of our
Historical Records Database. - March 2, 2006 - We have loaded
over 10,000 entries onto the
Historical Records Database from
the Colorado State Reformatory (1889-1939).

February 8, 2006 - Poor Records for
Arapahoe,
Costilla,
Huerfano
and
Weld Counties added to
Online Indexes.

February 9, 2006 - Two new indexes have been
added to the
Historical Records Database since January 1 and we are
working on a pre-1906 Denver, Boulder, Elbert County Birth Index
that should be up soon! We put up the Huerfano County Poor records
(1916-1923) as well as World War I Civilian Questionnaires. These
questionnaires document the civilian volunteer work in support of
the war and may provide information especially about women that
otherwise may not be available. As of February 9, we have
239,458 entries in this searchable database.
