What Was New - 2002


January - December, 2002

Pages that we have added to our site or have significantly modified include:
  • July 2, 2002 - The Territorial and District Court Chancery Records of Gilpin County (1862 - 1878) have been processed and indexed for public use.

  • June 27, 2002 -  The following record, Morgan County Mothers Compensation Cases 1935 has been indexed and added the our website.

  • June 12, 2002 - The Kit Carson County District Court Register of Deaths 1893 - 1907 has now been indexed and is online for research. This records does not reflect the actual death record, but is a summary of such for this county.

  • May 30, 2002 - A somewhat unique type of record that reflects births that occurred in Kit Carson County during the years 1892 - 1907 has been indexed and is available for research on the State Archives web site. This record does not show the name of the child, but only those of the parents, along with other informational data.

  • May 9, 2002 - A brief history snapshot has been added to the Colorado Department of Agriculture records holdings information that highlights some of the significant events in the Department's chronology.

  • May 8, 2002 - In 1894 the Fremont County District Court published a listing of all the adjudicated Arkansas River water decrees within Water District No. 12. This important record, Arkansas River Water Decrees, has now been indexed and scanned onto the Colorado Home Page for reference and research by Coloradans.

  • May 3, 2002 - A photo and brief description of the new state mineral, Rhodochrosite, is now available on our website at http://www.colorado.gov/dpa/doit/archives/arcembl.html#Mineral for citizens and students to see.

  • April 19, 2002 - The 1870 Federal Census for Colorado has been indexed and is now available for citizens to research via the internet.

  • April 16, 2002 - An index of one box of water decrees and transfers from Water Division 1 (1899-1926) is now available.

  • April 8, 2002 - A listing of the wills available for research from Park County for the years 1892-1925 is now accessible on the State Archives Index to Wills web page.

  • April 4, 2002 - The index to the Morgan and Mineral County Old Age Pension Applications has been added to the on-line indexes web page.

  • February 8, 2002 - The Index to Wills now includes names for Routt County residents for the years 1888 - 1905 and is searchable on the State Archives on-line index page.

  • February 7, 2002 - The San Miguel County section of the Old Age Pension Records has been added for the year 1934.

  • January 31, 2002 - A new inventory of records relating to the Colorado Department of Education has been added to the State Archives record holdings web page.

  • January 30, 2002 - A new web site guide has been added that describes The Governor John A. Love Collection at the Colorado State Archives and summarizes what records are available for research.

  • January 25, 2002 - The History of the Capitol - "Raising the Gold Plated Dome" has been revised to more accurately reflect the construction of our State Capitol.

  • January 15, 2002 - The municipal governments approved to use the 2002 Colorado Municipal Records Retention Schedule are listed at the beginning of the schedule.
